God Is Not Afraid

God Is Not Afraid

God Is Not AfraidSin doesn’t scare God.  Your mistakes don’t cause God to doubt His purpose in you. God isn’t questioning His choice to create you.

God is not afraid.

How many times have you been told to be afraid by another believer?  How many people are worried about the decisions you have made?  How many people have warned you to try to avoid every mistake?  How many times have you felt guilt, shame, doubt, and fear because of what you believed about God, or maybe because of what you believed about yourself?

God is not afraid.

“Well, if God knew what I know about me, He wouldn’t be empowering me, He would be conquering me!”

God does know about you.  God knows everything about you.

God is not afraid.

“But Steve, I don’t even like church.  I’m not a religious kind of person.  I’m not even really sure about God.  I mean if God is there, why haven’t I met Him? Why haven’t I felt His presence?  Why hasn’t He called my name?”

God is not afraid.

“No, you don’t understand.  I really don’t like those pushy people who are always telling me about why I need a relationship with God.  I don’t get it.  I mean, there are just some things you need to learn to accept about yourself.  People don’t really change, you just have to learn to live with what you’ve been given.”

God is not afraid.

“Well, what it really is, is that I don’t think that stuff is real.  I mean, people just made it up.  If God were real, He would do something like you see in the movies.  I mean, that stuff only happens in the movies.  God can’t do anything about what’s happening right now in my life.  This is deep stuff.  I mean dark.  Really. Dark.”

God is not afraid.

“No, really.  I don’t tell anyone about it.  My stuff is totally messed up.  I’m definitely a screw up.  That’s not going to change anytime soon.  I mean, I pay attention and I don’t see a lot of salvation happening around me.  Life is hard.  People are messed up.  The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can get on with it and make the best of whatever junk you have to put up with.  I mean, the sooner you can accept that things aren’t going to change, the easier your life is going to be.”

God is not afraid.

You don’t have to be afraid anymore.

Whatever your reason.  Whatever your history.  Whatever your context.  Whatever your family situation or your genetic heredity.

Wherever you find yourself today.

God is not afraid.

You don’t have to be afraid anymore.

Get out of your own way.  Take a step in a new direction.  Start believing for a change.  Start looking for what you want instead of what you think you deserve.

God is not afraid of you, your sins, your baggage, your past, or your limitations.  God is not afraid because God is the answer.

God created you thoughtfully, intentionally, purposely, and lovingly.  He took infinite care in designing you, conceiving you, and building you.

You are anointed.  You are chosen.  You are gifted.  You are empowered.  You are well able.  You are accepted. You are loved. You are protected.  You are defended.  You are enlightened.  You are blessed.

It’s time to start drowning out the voice of the enemy in your life with the goodness of God.

You don’t have time to spend stewing on how bad things are because you are spending all of your attention on what you can do to improve your circumstances, rebuild your relationships, reconnect with your opportunities, and take the next step into the new life that God is offering you today.

You don’t have to wait.  Change is possible.  You are capable.

God is not afraid.

God is ready.  God is able.  God is offering you a change.

All you have to do is say, “YES!”

“But Steve, it’s not that easy.”

Yes it is!  Start saying “Yes” to God today.  It is WAY easier than saying Yes to the enemy.  It turns out better.  It leads to more joy, peace, health, fulfillment, and success.  God’s will is perfect not in some abstract, academic sense; God’s will is perfect because it is actually the best possible outcome for every situation.

Stop believing the lies of the enemy that tell you that it is “easier” to sin, “easier” to make the bad choice, “easier” to go back to addiction, “easier” to fall back into dysfunctional relationships, “easier” to give up and settle for mediocrity.  Lies!

It is not easier to side with the enemy.  The enemy is not for you, the enemy is against you.  If you think that life sucks, you are on the wrong side.  If you are telling me things aren’t going to work out because things never work out, you are on the wrong side.  If you are believing for bad things to happen, expecting bad outcomes, and confident that things are not going to go your way, you are on the wrong side.

God is for you, not against you.  God is ready to bless you, build you up, elevate you, heal you, restore you, and shower you with all manner of good things.

All you have to do is start saying “Yes” to God instead of the enemy.

“I choose not to accept my bad habits, my addictions, my limitations, and my failures.  I choose not to be defined by my sins.  I am a child of God.  I was created on purpose, for a purpose.  No weapon formed against me will prosper.  I am not a victim of my circumstances, I am free, I am powerful, I am walking in the footsteps of the one who saves me, following His example, and His spirit is resting upon me giving me strength, insight, wisdom, health, and ability.  I am choosing the actually easy path.  I am choosing to be on God’s side.  I’m going with the one who created me.  I’m saying yes to the blessing and no to the curse.  I’m saying yes to the life that God has prepared and is providing for me.  I am not afraid.

Now is the time. God is not afraid.  You are who God is looking for.  You are who God is blessing.  You are who God has chosen to take to the next level.  You don’t have to be afraid anymore.

The good news isn’t just for story books and movies anymore .  Salvation isn’t just the stuff of legends.  It’s not just something that happens to other people at some other time and some other place.

Salvation is something that God is offering to you today.

Don’t be afraid to say, “Yes”.
