Standing in the Presence

Growth“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light.  For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” – Isaiah 9:2

God is speaking these words over your life today.  God is telling you that no matter what your challenges are, no matter what obstacles are in your path, no matter where you are coming from or where you have been, no matter who you are or who you have been — God is bringing new life to you today.

God is breaking down barriers.  God is clearing the way.  God is opening the path.  God is shattering the misconceptions.  God is offering you His life, your best life, right here, right now.

Maybe you are being held back by someone else.  Maybe you have lost your context or are struggling to find a clear perspective.  Maybe you have become your own worst enemy, repeating the negative messages that the enemy has told about you until you believe them yourself.  Maybe you are caught by your circumstances or held down by your past.  Maybe you are suffering a hidden hurt that no one shares or the shame of a mistake that you can’t live down.  Maybe you are repressed to the point of rebellion or spinning out of control beyond your ability to handle the situation.  Maybe your life has not yet realized your hopes and dreams.  Maybe you are questioning who you are, or who you want to be.

Wherever you are today, whatever is getting you down or discouraged, God is with you.  Right now.  Right where you are.

God is not afraid.  God is not ashamed.  God is stepping in close, looking you right in the eye, gently reaching out His hand, and saying,

“I see you there.  I know you.  I hear you.  I’m here now.  I’m here.  Let’s do this thing. Let’s get our blessings on.”

You are in the presence of God.  No matter where you walk.  No matter where you go.  No matter what you do.  You are in the presence of God.

“But you don’t understand.  I’m not ready for this.  I don’t deserve this.  I’m not even sure I want to be in God’s presence.  What’s He going to think of me?  What does He think of me?  What am I going to think of Him?  What if I don’t like what I discover?  What if I don’t like who I am?  What if we have a disagreement?  What if I’m not everything that He created me to be?”

Don’t worry.  God isn’t with you because you called.  God isn’t with you because you asked.  God isn’t even with you because you are somehow different from everyone else.  On the contrary, God is there for you because you are human.  God is with you because He loves you.  God is with you because He chose you, He created you, He’s invested in you, and you are special to Him.  You don’t have anything to prove. You don’t need to earn, deserve, or do anything.  You are in the presence of God and you can bring it with you wherever you go.

So, step up with confidence.  You are a child of God.  You aren’t standing in the dark any longer.  This is your moment.  This is your time.  You are ready.  You are prepared.  You are blessed.

God has chosen you for this moment.  Now choose Him.  Choose the life that He is offering you.  Let go of the negative voices.  Don’t accept the lies that the enemy is telling you.  Take a deep breath and open up the door to let your light shine.  Don’t wait for someone else to make a difference in your life.  You step out in faith today to make a difference in someone else’s life.  Get out of your head and over yourself.  Embrace the fact that God is on your side.  You are a child of God.  You stand in the presence of God.  And the darkness will not survive the power of your presence, because you are more than a conquerer, you are a child of God — and where you go, He is.

“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light.  For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” – Isaiah 9:2

Let’s do this thing.  Let’s get our blessings on.

Thanks for being there for me today. I have been struggling so hard this past week, and needed to feel God. Your words helped.
